If you don't have enough storage space on your hard drive or if you want to make sure your data will stay safe even in the event of total hardware failure, you can always store your important files on a FTP or cloud server. Cyberduck gives you the possibility of connecting to these services on a single user interface and it makes it quite easy to access and manage your stored data. Also, the application allows you to save your connection and it places many other useful features at your disposal.

The clean and simple layout of the user interface allows you to work in a comfortable manner. Connecting to a server takes only a few seconds. All you have to do is specify its address and type in your login credentials on a small panel. Also, you can opt for an anonymous connection and specify a path if you wish to start from a specific folder. Alternatively, if a server does not require login credentials, you can just type its address in an input field, on the main interface and hit the Return key. Besides FTP servers, Cyberduck is capable of connecting to other services as well, like SFTP and WebDAV servers, to Google Cloud Storage, Amazon or Rackspace Cloud Files.

While connected to a server, you can start exploring its contained files, preview or download them and perform other operations. It is also possible to synchronize a FTP or cloud folder with a folder from the hard drive. Furthermore, you can bookmark servers, along with their connection settings. Bookmarked servers, as well as recently accessed ones are listed on separate tabs, on the main user interface and you only need to double click one to connect.

By default, the software's toolbar presents only a few options, for establishing a connection, refreshing, editing selected files and disconnecting from the server. The good news is that Cyberduck's toolbar is customizable. You can add many more options and separators, by simply clicking and dragging them from a panel directly to the toolbar.

Pros

The application is capable of connecting to FTP and SFTP servers and to many other services. It allows you to bookmark your connections, so you don't have to specify all the necessary information more than once. Besides downloading and uploading files manually, you can also synchronize folders.

Cons

The possibility of viewing remote and local folders on the same interface would be a welcome feature. When it comes to managing files in FTP or cloud folders, Cyberduck makes everything much faster and easier.
